Fraud Prevention

Adept Telco is at the cutting edge fraud prevention and detection verification technologies to combat internet fraud.

We impliment a 3-level process to ensure fraudulent orders are detected and rejected before any transactions take place.

Level 1: IP Address Match

By looking at your IP address, we can tell whether a fraudster is making an order behind a Proxy, whish usually hides their IP address. A number of factors are taken into account when calculating the likelyhood of an order being fraudulent, including the distance between the IP address and the credit card billing address, and geographic risk. If an order fails to meet the requirements set by us for this first level of fraud protection, then the order is processed through our next level, called "FraudCall".

Level 2: FraudCall

Adept Telco may place a REAL TIME outbound telephone call to you while you are placing an order on our web site. The FraudCall verify's your identity and validity of your transaction by using a single or 4 digit pin code entered into your telephone keypad. At the end of the call our system requests a digital voice signature authorisation from you.

FraudCall will validate and confirm with our customers the following information:

  1. The Customers Name
  2. Date of the Order
  3. Product or Service Ordered
  4. Domain Name
  5. Order Amount (in 3 currencies)
  6. The Company they are ordering from (Adept Telco Ltd)

At the end of each call the FraudCall system will request a voice verification from our customer as a digital signature of their order.

Level 3: AVS

The final level of anti-fraud protection comes from the credit card issuer. They will check the details of a card, and if they feel it may be a fraudulent transaction, then the order is rejected.
